Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken, a popular chain based in Memphis, is set to open its first Arizona restaurants in Mesa and Phoenix.
The restaurant is best known for its crispy fried chicken, available as dark and white meat, served with options including mac n’ cheese, seasoned fries and fried pickles.
A commercial permit for the first of the two Valley restaurants, located at 212 W. Main Street in Mesa is still in review, according to public records. The street-front building in downtown Mesa shares the same block as Oro Brewing Company and Worth Takeaway.
Construction at Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken in Mesa is expected to begin sometime in August, with the restaurant opening sometime toward the end of 2020.
